Fresh from a complete remake, the sixth-generation Corvette marches into our hearts as beloved as ever. Smaller, lighter and more powerful than the previous Corvette, the current model is without question the best Corvette to date. Foot-pound for foot-pound, there is no better deal for your money. With all the high-tech performance improvements in the new Corvette, a huge leap was made from the last model, enhancing both handling and straight-line acceleration. No longer do you have to work hard to "handle" this muscle machine. Instead, it steers with ease and precision, handling twists and turns effortlessly. Even with major exterior changes that took place for 2005, the Corvette style shines through. The Corvette is still easily identifiable as a Corvette, but the changes to the exterior make the sixth generation car a different animal than its predecessor. A flush-fitted set of sealed beams molded to fit the curving hood line set-off the front of the car, and the C6 Corvette is some five inches shorter and one inch narrower than the fifth generation model, yet it features larger tires. Though the Corvette still has some catching up to do in the refinement department versus some more expensive import competitors, there's no denying the cars performance credentials are in order.
